Raipur | May 2026 (exact day unknown)
Chhattisgarh’s domestic tourism possibilities were at the centre of an ADTOI chapter gathering at Fairway Golf & Lake Resort in Raipur in spring 2026. President Ved Khanna welcomed participants and spoke about the role national operators could play in bringing the state’s less-publicised attractions into travel itineraries. The event also introduced a new team of local office-bearers.
A local team with national connections
Published reporting names Som Prakash Singh as chapter chairman, Manoj Rathore as secretary, Deepak Maheshwari as treasurer, Nisha Nanwani as women executive officer and Raman Jadwani as adviser. Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Chairman Neelu Sharma and Tourism Managing Director Vivek Acharya were among the public-sector representatives attending the gathering.
The destination discussion was wider than a single resort or city. Chhattisgarh’s appeal includes waterfalls, forest landscapes, cultural heritage and community-based experiences. Tour operators need local operating partners to turn those attributes into responsible, accessible holidays.
The composition of the newly nominated Chhattisgarh team gives national readers a point of contact in the state. With an identified chairman and executive office-bearers, the chapter can convene local suppliers, respond to operational needs and maintain a conversation with tourism authorities beyond the inauguration day.
The presence of state tourism-board representatives was also important because product development needs government-side facilitation as well as commercial market access. Khanna’s welcome was a leadership signal to both groups: the association’s national membership could become a channel through which a less-promoted state reaches more Indian holiday sellers.
Khanna’s message at Chhattisgarh chapter installation
Khanna’s role in the inauguration was a documented presidential address. It places him in the work of chapter-building and destination development, while leaving tourism funding and infrastructure commitments to the authorities who make them.
A new chapter team provides identifiable local leadership and a point of contact for national members interested in a state. That organisational follow-through is more consequential than a stand-alone inauguration photograph.
Building a working tourism chapter
The ceremony was reported by the press in late April and early May 2026; its exact event day should be checked against the invitation. The state later featured in ADTOI’s plans for a December convention, a separate announcement that warrants its own coverage.
Industry experience and travel enterprise
Alongside his national association responsibilities, Ved Khanna is identified in ADTOI’s member directory as Managing Director of Tourwala Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., a Delhi-based domestic travel company. His experience in selling real journeys helps explain the commercial questions raised by destination promotion: access, dependable local partners, accurate itineraries and traveller expectations. The work described above was undertaken in his ADTOI capacity; it was not a government appointment or exclusive commercial assignment for Tourwala. Read more about his travel ventures.
