A new leadership team eventually has to move beyond election photographs and explain its priorities to the membership. That moment came at ADTOI’s General House Meeting at Hotel Metropolitan & Spa in New Delhi on 21 November 2024. Ved Khanna, newly elected President, addressed members as the association began the 2024–2026 term.

A transition shaped by continuity and expectations

The association’s account describes the formal introduction and oath-taking of the managing committee, with former presidents Jyoti Kapur and P. P. Khanna involved in the ceremony. The gathering also remembered veteran tourism figure V. K. T. Balan. Those details gave the meeting a sense of institutional continuity rather than a simple change of names.

Khanna’s presentation looked ahead to member engagement and association development. Independent reporting additionally records an announcement connected with the proposed ADTOI chapter for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a plan that would move from discussion to a January 2025 launch.

The first presidential address and its significance

For members, a meaningful leadership transition is visible in concrete services: opportunities to learn, clearer national–chapter communication, new markets to sell and a forum to raise operational challenges. This meeting set the opening context for those activities, but a retrospective should distinguish the programme of work from outcomes subsequently delivered.

The November meeting also made an early connection to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, where a state chapter would be inaugurated in January 2025. Following an announcement through to a documented launch is one way of judging association continuity.

From inaugural plans to subsequent action

The strongest way to assess Khanna’s first months is to connect this November meeting with the Kolkata, Andaman and national association engagements that followed in early 2025.

A career connecting tourism associations and travel enterprise

Ved Khanna’s work at ADTOI forms part of a wider professional career in Indian travel. He is also Managing Director of Tourwala Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., with related business initiatives discussed separately in the Tourwala Universe overview. The association’s programmes are collective industry efforts, not promotions organised on behalf of a private travel agency.
